About Us

Pastor Marvin Owen James was born in Madera, California. He graduated from Edison High School where he ran track. He was the valley champ in the one-hundred-yard dash with a record that’s still standing. Pastor James attended California State University, Bakersfield with the hopes of competing in the Olympics. That hope did not happen, so he joined the Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces were difficult for Pastor James as he found himself in prison for a few years. Upon his release from the Armed Forces, he found employment & met a wonderful lady by the name of Roberta. Roberta had two wonderful sons Alonzo & Antione. She led Pastor James to Christ in 1987. They were married in 1988 & have enjoyed 33 years of marital bliss. They have been with New Kingdom Church for 21 years & have been servings as Pastors for the last 13 years. God has been good!

First Lady James was Born in Mettion, Louisiana on April 26. Her family moved to Fresno, CA. When she was 2 years old. She later graduated from Washington Union High School and then went on to Fresno State graduating with her BA degree in child development. Became a teacher

at Franklin Head Start that’s where she met Pastor Marvin Owen James. Fell in love with him & married him in 1988.

She had two great sons Alonzo & Antowin then after 4 years of great marriage she had a beautiful daughter Angelica. Roberta is now self-employed with James Royal Kids Daycare & is the first lady of New Kingdom Church alongside her husband Pastor Marvin Owen James & has been married for 33 wonderful years.
